Sushi was good and I am lame....

So, I never got back to anyone regarding the sushi delivery experience. The results are outstanding! Both the sushi  and the General Tso's chicken (all white meat!) were outstanding. I can eat sushi and serve raw fish challenged friends dinner all from the same restaurant. I've tried several dishes from my "new place" and can honestly say that I enjoy all of them.

The restaurant I am referring to is Cafe Ginger on West Gray. Located in what used to be Cafe Le Jadeite, this little asian restaurant is turning my life around. I am no longer stressed about making sure I get to Kroger in time to sift through the frozen food section trying to find dinner. I don't have to sit in long lines at drive-thru's to pick up some food. Nope, I just call up Cafe Ginger"= and say "Deliver to me, please!", and they do! Quite quickly, I might add. Also, the delivery guy is so friendly it is almost painful. I feel like tipping him 80% whenever he brings me a steaming, hot dish of love that I prepared (ok, ordered).

In addition to all this loveliness, the prices are ridiculous. They are so inexpensive. For $8.95, You can get a combo dinner consisting of a soup, crab puffs (spring rolls if you prefer), fried rice and chicken. I mean seriously, I couldn't even fathom trying to cook a three course meal.

Call or go to "Cafe Ginger" today and you will thank me.

By the way, I am lame because I haven't posted in so long. However, in my defense, I have been trying to get my "green designation" for my Real Estate License and I had to take classes in Galveston. Next week my poor sister has surgery (cervical fusion), so I will likely post very little. Please keep her in your thoughts.

I'll be back with some great new ideas from my Green Class and some new reviews!!

New Sushi Alert!! And, Fattycake Update.

Ok, so I just got a flyer for a Japanese restaurant down the street. I'm totally psyched because they deliver, have lunch specials AND a happy hour. I'm going to have them bring me some type of awesome raw concoction as well as a cooked meal so I can judge them harshly.

I pray that the chicken is good (white meat). Because, if so, then this totally gives me more than 1 place to go out to eat.

Think of me tonight and send your well wishes. I will be reviewing tomorrow. I will withhold the name of the restaurant in case they are awful. I don't like to be mean.

I will have some updates and new pics of my gorgeous niece, very soon. I'm going to be spending some quality "girl time" with her in a few days!

Until then, it is time for our Fattycake Update:

Let's start by showing you Trevor's newest tool in his arsenal, a chainsaw (for kids, not a real one). Now try and tell me this isn't the most intimidating boy you've ever seen?

Sticker on forehead (check!), "Rock On" t-shirt (check!), upside down sticker on shirt (check!), tool that could easily mutilate someone (check!). Ya, we're good.

Then, of course, Saturday came which meant it was time to mow the lawn. You DO NOT come between fatty and his lawn duties. Here is a series of pics that show you his process:

Starting off good, behind Daddy, working hard:

Still truckin', keeping our momentum up, but gettin' a little tired....:

Ok, it is 100 degrees, hot and now we are having some issues with the mower:

What have we gotten ourselves into? Is there a way out of this weekly commitment?:

Done:

Maybe I'll just help Daddy weedeat, I get to go shirtless and Mommy gives me a popsicle after:

So. Dang. Tired. Must watch Yo Gabba Gabba before bed with my friends, Toodee Blue, Brobee and Foofa while sporting my signature orange Yo Gabba Gabba hat:

See you soon!!

Most Awesome Hardware Stores-Part 2 of 3

I know, FINALLY I am getting to this. I feel certain that all of Houston has been sitting around with bated breath just waiting for me to name my second pick. Well, you can all rest easy now because today is the day.

If, by chance, you should find yourself out in Katy, TX one day and need to find a hammer, grill, some chocolate, stationary, onesies for a baby shower, drill bits and a cup of coffee, then Ace Hardware store is the one-stop shop for you. Ace Hardware?! Are you joking, Danelle? Oh, but no, I am not.

This Ace Hardware is unlike any other Ace Hardware I have ever seen. I've heard rumor that there might be one or two similar to it, but nothing really comes quite close. Ace Hardware Stores are individually owned, and with that being the case, it allows the owner to make this one, quite special.

You can totally bring your husband, boyfriend, partner, significant other, or whatever to this joint and all will be good. There is a massive section in the back filled with a lot of weird tools and pieces and plumbing and paint and everything a do it yourself-er could ask for.

Then, there is the front half. It is so amazing. Truffles, candles, jams, jellies, cute aprons, adorable shoes, stationary (my love in life), high end cookware (Le Creuset, etc.), journals, picture frames, dinnerware, spices and just about anything else that is awesome that you can think of are lining the aisles at the front of this baby.

I have bought so many gifts at this place. And, I really appreciated every single one of them. I can go on and on about Ace Hardware in Katy, but you just have to see it to believe it. I am posting a boatload of pictures because they speak for themselves.

***From my own camera so the credit goes to me.***

First, check out this awesome wall of lotions, potions, home scents, candles etc. I love every scent:

Next, there is so much baby stuff, and all ridiculously adorable! I focused on the little girl items, because I couldn't help it:

Baby Collegiate items:

There is a whole section dedicated to cookware, food, utensils, dinner plates, glasses, mugs, etc:

Most important, there is a ton of stationary and monogrammed items:

And finally, so you will believe me that it is truly a hardware store as well:

Don't waste another precious second of your mundane life. Go to Ace Hardware on Mason Rd. today and find happiness amongst the retail! Buy me something.

Why I am not posting.....

I am dying a slow and very painful death. Ok, seriously, maybe that was too harsh? But, it feels like it. I literally pray for the sweet release from this misery every night. Yet, every morning I wake up to what is killing me:

And, the Strep Virus, Image from HERE:

Anyway, until this clears up, I can't be writing. It is painful to think. I'll be back in the swing of things soon enough.

Bye!
